OK so there is a thread here celebrating the life of Lynott by way of commemorating his death. Since I dont want to be rude or seen to be a prick, Ill just start this one instead.
Phil Lynott was a complete selfish CUNT. Nothing shy of that truely describes the man. Junkie fucktard comes close. His musical talent is unquestionable, that is not what this post is about, I am talking about the man himself. The man who whilst given a fantastic skill, decided to piss it down the drain whilst maintaining that this was a sign of his artistic brilliance. A man who people claim to be working class hero yet who also fucked over plenty of working class people in this country.
Big question:
Why do they have a statue in honour of Lynott and nothing to commemorate the other members of the band?? I dont remember him playing every drum, guitar, bass and other instrument on every album or at every gig. There was more than just him in the band, surely they should have a statue with ALL of the band in it. Thats like building a statue to Hetfield only or McCartney only etc etc.
If the man was so working class and an Irish Hero then how come NONE of his money went to the community after his death, how come ALL of the money was gone, pissed down the drain with his drug habit!

Oh believe me I have looked way past his drug addiction and his lifestyle and the truth of the matter is Lynott is not some modern day hero for the common workers of dublin. He was a prick. My family has first hand experience of how much of a prick he was. Maybe that makes my views biased, maybe I just cant tolerate the hero-worship that goes for a character such as lynott, either way. I think hes a cunt and while I am not happy that his musical talent has been removed, I am certainly glad that his persona is gone.
As for the other members of the band. Yeah, so they attended the unveiling, maybe they do approve, my point is, they shouldnt HAVE to approve, the statue should not be of one man. To me and to countless others that protrays that there was only Lynott in Lizzy and that the other members are replacable.

Well without going into too much detail as it is a family matter, he basically fucked my family over and bankrupted my father. Then the CUNT goes off and crokes coz his drug-fuelled body cant take it and basically leaves us high and dry, while everyone mourns the 'loss of a legend'. Seriously I know I am biased, but can we please just stop sucking the mans dick, hes dead, I find that funny!
