They should have just put restrictions in place, bloody Nazi country, I'm sick of this, I don't like magic mushrooms but thats not the bloody point. I should be able to make an informed choice as and adult, the main word there being CHOICE!

Wont make any difference except priolly make em easier to find/buy. Will probably also drive the price up and the quaklity down. Do I really care...No!!! Am I glad that they are gone.....Kinda yes. Magic Mushrooms are over-rated as a drug and in all seriousness do nothing that psychosomatic inclinations cannot imitate.
I dont think it was Harney who banned em, surely they were banned by the Garda which is the Dept of Justice which under McDowell. Either way why not start a petition to get em re-legalised!

i was thinking of starting some kind of campaign but getting your name known to the authorities for that kinda thing is never a good thing. they were expensive and they arent the best drug in the world, but i for one would rather spend 15 quid on mushrooms for the night than 80 quid on drink, and on mushies you're not violent or dangerous. and there was no hangover or comedown............ im gonna miss them guys! sob!

Does it not bother you that the state is taking away yet another of our choices? Highly unlikely I know, but what if the sate decided to make it illegal to be a vegan as it's detrimental to your health unless your diet is sudsidised? How would you feel then?

That is a retarded argument and you know it.

Ok, I agree that the state would never do anything like that, what I'm saying is that people who take mushrooms have a right to be upset, just as you would have a right to be upset if they criminalised something you enjoyed.
You knew what I meant by that comparison, I don't think it's a retarded arguement at all.

True. I'm just in a belligerent mood.
Grr. Arrgh. So mad.
But seriously, the state criminalising mushrooms comes as no great shock, but you are correct, I find it hard to care too much about it. I'm far more concerned about some of the governments social and international policies to worry about this.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly up in arms over it myself, it just bugs me a little bit.

I do think they have taken away another choice from us.
Ive never heard of a crazy murder from someone on shrooms.
Its a bit over the top considering there are sooo many problems in this country that deserve attention far more then this.

I only did them every now and again so I'm really not gonna miss them much at all.
I did however, very much enjoy the fact that I could do them anytime I damn well pleased.
That's no longer the case and that's what's bullshit!

Yeah, it was like that time they made heroin illegal, that was a kicker. But like smoking in pubs, we'll get over it

Dana believe me, the guards in your area probably know a little about you already and I mean that of anyone who partakes in recreational drug use. Simple rule of thumb people talk and the guards DO listen.
Dont get me wrong Im not saying that you are being watched by the Drug Squad or anything as grandiose as that, but I would imagine that the Guards have heard your name pop up here or there in low-brow simple chatter.

This is very true! Have you ever been walkin home in your area late at night and been stopped by the guards and been totally surprised that they know your name? - I have!

I used to always get that, it had nothin to do with drugs, but when i was about 16 & 17 me and my mates used to be always fighting with a group of cunts that lived up the road, it got really bad, I'd be walkin along the road and a garda van would pull up "Keepin out of trouble Thomas?" I'd be like, "of course", and when he'd leave, i'd be saying who the fuck is that? It's the grannys on the road who invite guards in for cups of tea, they tell them everything!
