Now now Tom were these peolpe used in this ALOT OF PEOPLE poll mentally deficient in some form that they needed to watch 22 inbred monkeys kick a ball about to get the inspiration to get their thumb out.
Seriously are you telling me the owners in Gateway/Intel/Dell/Pfizer and that were watching Stuttgart 88 and Italia 90 and after it was all said and done decided that Ireland was the Rosiest of Futures!!! Fuck if that is true then Senegal should be getting one hell of an economic resurgance any day now!!

Coming from a guy who'll gald waste 90 mins of his life weekly, watching sweating grown men chase a ball up and down a strip of grass in the hope that one will get it into the hole!!! I don't like soccer myself but the whole "sweaty grown men" aproach to slagging sport is, to say the least, VERY FUCKING OLD!!!

You're just saying that because your a grown man who get's all sweaty while beating up other grown men.
Not that I'm saying there is anything wrong with that. I like my brains on the inside of my skull.
I TOTALLY disagree with Tom's "Football saved Ireland" argument. It's total nonsense.

Football saved Ireland is complete bollocks that goes without saying.
I've just got a problem with people who hide their physical insecurities behind their "intellect"! Mind over matter and all that shite.
I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH that I am NOT pointing fingers here. The whole topic just set me off on one.
Sorry.

Id like to point out that I am not the happy medium. I am aware of my physical short-comings, as I am aware of my intellectual long-comings (hehehehehehe!!!), bvut my major point with sports is:
Very few sports are actually sports as I would see it. Now hand to hand combat and man to man fighting, wrestling, boxing, fencing, judo, Tae Kwon Do, to me these are sports. They are two men pitting themselves against each other and each others training. Football, rugby, cricket etc whilst entertaining to some are pitting a number of men each with different abilities and weaknesses against each other in the vain hope that all the positives and negatives will counter-balance and therefore provide a winning formula. If the defence decided to do a line of coke the night before or decided to bum each other and were dog tired, then the whole team suffer coz of one mans short-comings. Too many inconsistant variables.
I prefer the old school greco-roman method of matches. Mano e mano. Makes it more balanced and while the variables exist, they are more understandable and determinable.
