Dear Management, What in Gods name has happened to the place??
I decided to pay a visit on Saturday to Fibbers for the first time in 2-3 months(Family issues kept me away for a bit)having being a regular for the last 13 years.
I can only describe the tone of the place as having dropped somewhat. The place is full of younger patrons who I see are the cause of a lot of what happened on Saturday night and "ego fueled arseholes" who think they are Gods gift to women. Heres what happened 3 times in one night. Im sitting with my long term g/f of 10 years and next what I can only describe as a muppet decides to try it on with herself quote "shes with me now so f**k off"This is while Im sitting beside her!!!! This happened 3 times during the night.Next Im told by another muppet that this "was his pub" and "his seat" again on more than one occasion during the night.
Fibbers never used to be like this-there was always a friendly atmosphere and very rarely was there any major arguments or fights but on Saturday night it was mental outside once the place closed.I havent seen a fight this bad in years outside Fibbers.
The problem I see is that the security staff are letting anyone and everyone in including a few who were barred before for fighting. Aswell as this there is little or no ID checks entering the place whereas before even myself,g/f and friends were checked and we`re all 30+
I dont know if Fibbers management read these boards but if they do all Im asking is that you return fibbers to the way it used to be ie. a place with a friendly atmosphere where everyone knew everyone else and a place that had a reputation for not having fights etc outside every weekend. Thanks, Anon.

Maybe you just look like your in the friends zone, sometimes happen when relationships go stale, no one's to blame. I'm sure they moved on with no problems

No way mate.It wasnt about the g/f that I was pissed off it was more the attitude of some in the place.
Relationships not stale we`re getting married in May.
Newbies who Id never seen before that act like they own the place just pisses me off big time.

I was just jokin with ya. As for the newbies, there no better or worse than the long-term regulars who think THEY own the place

Dont sell yourself short. You have the power to ignore even more shit than that which goes on on a Saturday night in Fibbers Im sure. If someones really pissing you off go up and say it to Security but dont turn it into a sob story or they will ignore it. Theyre usually like to nip a fight in the bud before it causes hasell for them and everyone else.
Sorry to hear you had a bad night.

First bad night in a long time Helmut. As i said before I am (was) a regular that partook in Fibbering every Saturday night for the last 13 years and when I could afford it I was there 5 nights a week.
It just that there seems to be group of new peeps there who think its ok to act like hard men with a few drinks on them.

But they are just kids so I find it best to ignore them

Its true, there are some really nice newbies been floating in over the last year or so, but over the last 2-3 months there are some real arseholes in there causing shit, some of them newbies, some of them are people who were barred a few years ago and now are back because of the new management. It wont take long for them to get barred again hopefully, and then it will return to nice friendly fibbers again with any luck.
But until then, we just have to get so drunk that we are oblivious to all around us!!

Yeap very true. There are some lovely people in there that have just started drinking there in the last few months and with them I have no problem.
There are some, old and new that have that stupid attitude of Fibbers belonging to them. To them I ask, will you please pay for the toliets to be done up. Seeing as you own the place and all.
I agree with shelli, just get drunk and ignore the people that annoy you. If only I could do that all the time.

some of them are people who were barred a few years ago and now are back because of the new management. Exactly my point--I spotted at least 5 or six people who were banned (and banned for life) in there on Saturday. And these same peeps were the ones causing the hassle.

Unfortunately there's not much can be done about it, just pray they get caught in the act of something against the rules and get barred again.

I don't agree with that, hell, i had to be a newbie twice, but we got over it, because we kept our head down, and didn't annoy anyone, well at least for a few months or so, and it was fine. Its only people trying to make a name for themselves on their first visit, and it puts a dwoner on every new person who comes to fibbers

As a seasoned veteran of the establishment I have to say:
The attitude is coming back because alot of the newer kids and newbies think they own the place. Unfortunately this is true as the newbies are where we were when we were their age. They dont have bills and other worries to contend with, this means thay can go in nearly every night of the week and establish 'their authority!' Now Thursdays I feel are a big problem, the idiot students who are getting in the door and I do mean STUDENTS, I am not singling out all students but I know for a fact that most of the fucktards I see in there on Thursdays are students.
As for the fighting outside I have ALWAYS seen, depending on how late you wait around for on a Saturday night the greater the chance you'll see some sort of a fight. Its inevitable unfortunately.
I am sorry that you had a bad night and that you feel disheartened with the place, but understand, if the management barred everyone someone said was barred before there would a hell of a lot less people in there and there would also be a hell of alot less business. If they are true pricks they will cause trouble again, but remember the management will only really kick someone out for drugs, drink, being too drunk, falling asleep, starting on a bouncer/barstaff, or causing trouble. For the last one you really have to be practically throwing the punch for them to kick you out first and foremost. Its just the way it has to be, otherwise you say something to the bouncer and he doesnt like the sound or tone of your voice and out you go.
My suggestion is in the future if someone comes over and starts that shit again or causes any shit, and I do mean any shit, go find a barman/bouncer and tell them. The worst they can do is nothing and in my experience they always will listen and at least take a look or try to sort things out.
BTW, you are a reg about as long as me, what be your name good sir, I probably know you!
